Shopping in Salalah

Quaint street-side markets or traditional Arabic souks characterize the shopping scene of Salalah. It’s also known as the ‘Perfume Capital of the Middle East' and shoppers can smell the most exotic fragrances in the region. Bedu jewelley, frankincense, bukhoor, bells, and khanjars (traditional curved daggers) are some souvenirs that you must buy in Salalah. Do visit the grand shopping mall in Salalah - Salalah Gardens Mall, which is perfect for a family outing.

Haffa Souk – The oldest and the largest souk of Salalah, the Haffa Souk is also quite crowded. Experience the chaos and fun way of shopping in this souk. Shop for colorful kaftans, rugs, frankincense, knitted caps, perfumes, ceramic figurines, and wooden handicrafts. 

Al Husn Souk – Situated in the Al Haffa district, this interesting souk is arranged prettily in a tidy network of small alleys. It is popular for its frankincense, bukhoor (scented bocks/ woodchips), attar (perfumes) traditional Omani silver shops, ancient silver weapons and jewellery. One can bargain for reasonable prices and buy authentic, ethnic silverware items including incense holders and kohl containers. You’ll also find some good perfume shops and textile merchants in this souk.

Lulu Shopping Centre – It’s one of the biggest chains of super markets and departmental stores across the Middle East and is very popular for its wide range of electronic gadgets and crockery items.  

Lulu Hypermarket is another popular shopping destination from the hugely popular retail chains and is regarded as the best place in Salalah to buy grocery items in the town. It has finest selection of foodstuffs outside Muscat and is great place to buy fresh seafood, New Zealand meat and a large variety of fruits and vegetables. It also has a good collection of clothes and apparels as well as electrical goods.

Centrepoint Shopping Mall is a plush, swanky shopping destination in Salalah and it boasts of mostly high-end apparel brands, accessories and home décor stores. A number of top international fashion labels have their stores in the mall.
