Located in Almaty’s Panfilov Park, the Ascension Cathedral is a Russian Orthodox cathedral that was once the world’s second tallest wooden building. Despite being made of wood, it survived the 10-magnitude earthquake of 1910. Admire the spectacular paintings and decorations placed in the inside and the colourful domes from the outside.
