1. Tulip Festival, Keukenhof, Lisse, The Netherlands
When: March 21st to May 19th
If you haven’t heard of the mesmerizingly vivid Tulip Festival of Keukenhof Gardens held in the town of Lisse (barely half hour away from Amsterdam), you are probably living under a rock! The season of spring is heralded in the Netherlands with the Tulip season that lasts from March-end till mid-May, but the beautiful, blooming Tulip flowers are at their best by mid-April! In its 70th year, the theme for Keukenhof 2019 is Flower Power. And, if you decide to visit the Tulip Festival, you will also be treated to exciting entertainment events such as Sounds of Holland, Holland heritage weekend, Dutch flower parade and the Woodstock festival.
2. Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, California,USA
When: April 12th to 21st
The Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival, known simply as Coachella, is a popular music fest featuring famous as well as up-and-coming artists representing multiple music genres. It is held in the small town of Indio in California's Colorado Desert area. The line-up for Coachella 2019 fest includes well-known names like Childish Gambino, Ariana Grande, Diplo, Solange and DJ Snake. Oh, and the event also witnesses funky art installations!
3. AfrikaBurn, Tankwa Karoo Desert, South Africa
When: April 29th to May 5th
The arid landscape of the Tankwa Karoo Desert in South Africa lights up, literally, during the captivating AfrikaBurn festival! Similar to the Burning Man festival, AfrikaBurn consists of sculptures, art displays, concerts and live performances. The highlight of it all, however, are the humongous wooden structures that are sent up in flames at the end of the festival every year.
When: April 5th to 7th
With a tagline that says, ‘7060 ft. above ordinary’, Snowbombing is possibly the highest exciting event in this list! A ski and snowboarding festival that also includes world class acts, unique experiences such as Alpine Yoga and chair lift speed-dating and incredible venues, Snowbombing is relatively new to Canada. But, the overall event of Snowbombing has been taking place in Austria since 2000.
5. Byron Bay Bluesfest, Byron Bay, Australia
When: April 18th to 22nd
Celebrating their 30th anniversary this year, the Byron Bay Bluesfest is held at the Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm. Celebrating music in its Blues and Americana form, the line-up for this year’s BluesFest includes famous Australian as well as international names such as Iggy Pop, Hozier, Norah Jones and the Melbourne Ska Orchestra.
6. Songkran, Vientiane, Laos
When: April 14th to 16th
The Songkran festival is celebrated during the traditional Lao New Year's Day in Laos. Also known as the water festival, what traditionally began as people washing their homes and images of Buddha in order to welcome the new year afresh, has now turned into a nationwide, friendly water fight!

King’s Day or Koningsdag is celebrated all across Holland with zest. A national holiday, this is a day dedicated to celebrating the king’s birthday. However, did you know, it used to be called Queen’s Day for several years until King Willem-Alexander’s crowning? Koningsdag is known for vibrant orange clothing, boat parades/races in the canals, bustling flea markets, live music and overall, a massive street partyyyyy!
