The Dubai World Cup is what big dreams look like when they come alive. A little boy once dreamt of watching the best horses in the world, race in the country he called ‘home’. Perhaps his Bedouin community, which regards horses as God’s special creation, gave more encouragement to that dream.

That little boy was Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai, whose dream ultimately realized into a race unlike any. In 1996, for the first time in the long history of horse racing, the best thoroughbred horses of the world competed in a race, giving birth to the legendary Dubai World Cup. The fact that this was (and still is) the richest race in the world, definitely helped this historic gathering.

Meydan Racecourse: The Best Horse Racecourse In The World

Now coming to the venue, there is no other way to describe the Meydan Racecourse, but simply “without a match in the world”. Right from the fact that it has the world’s only 5-star track-side hotel, or to the superlative laden reactions jockeys use to describe the venue, this race course is beautifully unique.
