Beating all odds, Kent has slowly emerged as the most popular family tourist destination in Europe. Beachside resorts, the White Cliffs of Dover and the seaside town of Margate offer eclectic opportunities for family fun.
Ireland’s Kerry County bagged the second spot and was described as a destination which ‘appeals to the imagination of travellers of all ages’. Two more UK destinations – Island of Skomer and Marloes Sands, Wales combined together to take the 9th spot in the list.
Lonely Planet also unveiled the list of Europe’s 10 Best Beaches. Jaz Beach in Budva, Montenegro claimed the top spot followed by Peniche Beach, Portugal and Rondinara Beach, Corsica. Two more beaches of UK – Bantham Beach, Kingsbridge, Devon and Sandwood Bay, Sutherland, Scotland make up the 6th and 7th place in the list. Looks like, United Kingdom is slowly breaking the stereotypical image of bland, classy and the usual tourism scene to a vibrant and family oriented destination within Europe and world.
