Irfan Ahmad

To most, a dream of falling represents a sense of insecurity and fear of the unknown. To Irfan Ahmad, however, it’s as good as dreams get. It’s perhaps this same fascination with the uncertainty of what the next day could bring that drove him to pursue a PG diploma in journalism.

Always an avid quizzer, the idea of informing and empowering people always appealed to him, and pushed him to the field of writing. He started off as a crime reporter during his internship at The Times of India, and went on to editing stories for the Press Trust of India (news agency) on a range of topics. Always enthralled by sportsmen and their inspirational stories, he then moved to a company that generated content for the website of Sony Six, one of India’s premier sports channels. As a senior editor there, he exclusively interviewed F1 champion Lewis Hamilton, Olympic medallists Sushil Kumar and Abhinav Bindra, and rising Indian badminton star P V Sindhu, to name a few.

They say travel is a journey into oneself. Irfan’s journey has taken him to many shores, the latest of them being HolidayMe, a travel portal that caters primarily to the Middle East. As the content team head, Irfan has mastered the art of painting pictures of far-flung places with words, and leading a team of young professionals in creating a wholesome platter of itineraries around the world. Like a true traveller, he continues to explore his frontiers. When he’s not being a grammar Nazi at work or charting out the route of his next adventure, he enjoys a steaming cup of masala chai and watching the latest Bollywood flick.
