Apart from being the most beautiful island in the world, Palawan Island has artefacts that date back 50,000 years and is also home to the Puerto Princesa Underground River, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature. At nearly five miles in length, Puerto Princesa is the second longest underground river in the world, and Asia’s longest.
Palawan Island’s popularity amongst snorkelers and divers is not unknown. The province is home to a second UNESCO World Heritage Site - Tubbataha Reef National Marine Park, which is ideal for undersea adventurers.
The ideal time to head to Palawan is between the months from October and May, hence it’s time you book your tickets right away!
South Carolina’s Kiawah Island secured the second position.
While Hawaii’s Maui Island came in third.
