Thursday, 18th April 2019 is marked as “International Day For Monuments and Sites 2019“. Popularly known as World Heritage Day, this year the theme of UNESCO and International Council on Monuments and Sites is rural landscapes and village communities that are distinct and preserves the rich cultural and traditional aspects.
Each year on World Heritage Day, UNESCO adds some new cultural treasures of our planet into its list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This list protects and guarantees funds for the necessary conservation efforts to maintain these sites. The ever-increasing list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites includes both manmade and natural treasures.
