Watch your balance, calm your nerves and ready yourself for an enthralling trip in the hidden treasure of central Laos.
Tham Kong Lo Cave
Tham Kong Lo Cave, one of Southeast Asia’s unique geological wonders, is hidden deep in the Phu Hin Bun wilderness. To explore the cave, you can hire a boat from Ban Kong Lo village or you could bring your own inflatable kayak and float the 7 km through the cave. Boats do stop throughout the 7 km cave, allowing travellers to explore a little on foot in the total darkness.
The caves, that measure a humongous 390 feet tall and over 650 feet wide, are filled with spike-like structures, subterranean gardens, fossil passages and foot-long cave pearls made from minerals.
It is also interesting to know that the Xe Bang Fai River cave in central Laos is considered to be one of the largest known river caves in the world.
This natural wonder can be visited from November through April, during the tourist high season in Laos.
