Egyptian capital city Cairo tops the list of favoured travel destinations for UAE residents followed closely by Istanbul and Jeddah this year. With the temperatures rising and holidays approaching, the residents are looking towards cooler climes with shorter flight durations playing a key role in their decision making while picking their favoured destinations.
Jordan’s capital city Amman comes fourth on the list while Thai capital city Bangkok rounds off the top 5, says Wego – a travel search website. Popular family destination with plenty of shopping and entertainment avenues make these destinations a popular choice for the residents.

The UAE residents enjoy a higher per capital spending capability and hence, prefer to stay in 4-star and 5- star hotels when travelling abroad.
“Four and five star hotels are most preferred for family travels, with 32 per cent of the UAE’s accommodation choices requesting four star accommodation and 48 per cent opting for five star properties,” said Wego’s Hmedan.
