2020 has started on a promising note for travelers to Malaysia! Government of Malaysia has recently launched its ‘Visit Malaysia 2020’ campaign, providing a visa-free stay up to 15 days for Indian and Chinese nationals.
Stressing on tourism sustainability, the primary objective of the initiative is to boost tourism industry, inviting more visitors for a wonderful experience in the country. Effective from January 1, 2020, the step is integral in setting up Malaysian tourism for a new high.
The exemption of visa, however, would require the usage of Electronic Travel Registration and Information Systems (eNTRI), an online registration facility by the Government of Malaysia, accessible to individuals and agencies.
Once registered, Indian and Chinese tourists can travel to Malaysia visa-free for 15 days within three months with a cool-off period of 45 days, only after which re-applications are to be considered.
Entrance and exit from Malaysia must be through certain authorized airports or immigration control posts and is still subjected to existing rules.
Flaunting some of the best cultural diversities and arts, Malaysia has always been attractive to tourists. While UAE Nationals were already exempted from the visa process, this news comes as a New Year gift for Indian and Chinese expats too.
