WestJet
WestJet Airlines is a Canadian low-cost carrier that provides scheduled and charter air service to 90 destinations in Canada, the United States, Europe, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.
The airline is a public company with more than 10,000 employees and is not part of any airline alliance. It operates three variants of the Boeing 737 next generation family, and has announced plans to acquire four Boeing 767-300ER aircraft. The airline's headquarters is located next to the Calgary International Airport in Alberta.
Founded in 1996, WestJet Airlines is currently the second-largest Canadian air carrier after Air Canada. It operates an average of 425 flights and carries over 45,000 passengers every day. In 2013, WestJet carried 18.5 million passengers, making it the ninth-largest airline in North America by number of passengers carried.
WestJet has two main hubs: Calgary International Airport and Toronto Pearson International Airport. The focus cities of WestJet are Edmonton International Airport, Vancouver International Airport and Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport. The company slogan is "Owners Care". Its frequent flyer programme is called WestJet Rewards. WestJet currently has codeshare agreements with Air France, Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, Japan Airlines, British Airways, KLM, Cathay Pacific, Korean Air, Qantas, etc. WestJet is a member of Oneworld Alliance.
