Etihad Airways is the official flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates and is the second-largest airline of the country after the Dubai based Emirates Airlines. The airline was established by a royal decree of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in July 2003 and the name, which means "union" in Arabic, was derived from the term "al-ittihad". Etihad Airways-Baggage Allowance

Etihad Airways’ baggage allowance is very simple and clear. Each item must not exceed a weightage of 32kg and dimensions of 207cm (45 x 72 x 90. 

Etihad Guest Platinum members can carry up to 70kg in first class, 60kg in business class and 50kg in economy class. Etihad Guest Gold members can carry up to 65kg in first class, 55kg in business class and 45kg in economy class. Etihad Guest Silver members are entitled to carry 60kg in first class, 50kg in business class and 40kg in economy class. Etihad Guests can only carry 50kg in first class, 40kg in business class and 30kg in economy class.

The hand baggage allowance of Etihad Airways is 2 bags total of 12kg in first class and business class, and 1 bag up to 7kg for economy class. One bag up to 5kg for infants is also allowed. Each baggage size must not exceed dimensions of 111 cm (40 x 50 x 21.

Etihad Airways-Check-in Requirements

Passengers can avail Etihad Airways’ online check-in facility (not available for partner airline. With this service, you can check-in online from 24 hours up to 2 hours before departure, and you can also choose your preferred seat and print your Boarding Pass. For a faster check-in process, print your Boarding Pass and carry it with you to the airport, ready to present at the Bag Drop counter. 

To access your mobile boarding pass, simply complete your online check-in at least three hours before departure, using a mobile device. Your pass can also be sent to your email address or stored on Passbook (for iPhone users. We also recommend taking a screenshot of the mobile boarding pass, as the 2D barcode would need to be scanned while you pass through the airport security and boarding gates.
