UAE citizens can apply online for an Electronic Visa Waiver (EVW) if they wish to visit the United Kingdom for touristy reasons. With a single entry in the UK, they are permitted to spend a maximum time period of 6 months. Applicants must meet the following requirements: 

• Carry a valid passport
• Have an address in the United Kingdom where he/she intends to stay
• Details of your journey
• Submit the EVW Application form within 3 months and 48 hours before the planned travel to the UK

The applicant will get an email within 24 hours with a link to download the EVW. Present the EVW when travelling to the UK. One can print it or show it on an electronic device (phone and tablet) as well.

Citizens of Kuwait, Oman and Qatar can apply for an Electronic Visa Waiver.  Indian, Pakistani, Filipinos, Bangladeshi, Egyptian and Iranian expats living in the UAE require visa for entry into the UK. It is advisable that nationals of these and other countries get in touch with their respective embassies for obtaining comprehensive information.  

The general UK visa requirements are: 

• A valid passport with a minimum of three blank pages
• Confirmed return air tickets
• Filled-in visa application form
• 2 recent passport-size colour photographs
• Covering letter mentioning details of travel, details of the traveller, purpose of visit and duration of stay.
• Income Tax Returns of the last 3 years
• Original bank statements reflecting transactions for the last 6 months, duly attested and signed by a bank official
• Proof of investments - Mutual funds, fixed deposits, national saving certificates, stocks & shares, etc
• Hotel confirmation details

Certain nationals visiting the UK from different parts of the planet are required to be tested for Tuberculosis as part of the visa application process. The UK visa applications are accepted or rejected within 3 weeks in most of the cases. Check the validity and other important details of the visa once you have received it.
