Yerevan is the capital of Armenia, as well as the largest city of the country. Located on the banks of the Hrazdan River, and is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities of the world. The main international airport that serves the city of Yerevan is the Zvartnots International Airport, which operates with EVN as its IATA code and UDYZ as its ICAO code. It is located nearly 12 kms away from the city center, and is well connected via local transport. It is the main transport hub of the country, and is the busiest in terms of passenger service. It is also the third busiest in the entire Caucasus region.
Constructed in the year 1961, the airport has been renovated a couple of time since then, and has three separate terminals. Terminal 1 is currently closed, Terminal 2 is used for domestic as well as international arrivals and departures and Terminal 3 is the VIP Terminal, used for dignitaries and political guests.
