Esenboga International Airport serves the city of Ankara in Turkey, and is operated by TAV Airports. The airport, located 28 kilometers from the city center, started its operations in the year 1955. The Etimesgut Air Base, located almost 15 kilometers from the city of Ankara in Turkey. It is a military airbase that is owned by the Turkish Air Force, and operated by the 11th Air Logistics Command and the Turkish Aeronautical Association. Residing at an elevation of 2,653 feet above mean sea level, the airport is home to two squadrons with their own military transport aircraft for transferring personnel or for transporting cargo. The Etimesgut Air Base is the host of International Defense Industry, Aerospace and Maritime Fair (IDEF) and civil aviation airshows on a regular basis. The airport is also home to the Etimesgut Türkkuşu Training Center of the Turkish Aeronautical Association, which in turn hosts flight schools, logistics facilities, and maintenance operations. It has two separate runways that are paved with asphalt, with the longer one measuring 8,554 feet in length and the shorter one measuring 4,950 feet in length.
