Kandy is a city located in the Central Province of Sri Lanka and is the second largest city after the national capital city of Colombo. Kandy lies in the middle of hills of the Kandy Plateau and comprises an area of tropical plantations of mainly tea. Kandy is a key tourism destination of Sri Lanka and is the site of the famous Buddhist temple – The Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of the important religious site in the Buddhist world. The temple is now part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988.
