The Alfama is the oldest section of Lisbon and has Moorish influences everywhere. It is also a very safe area, even late at night.
The best time of the year to visit Lisbon is from March to May or from September to October as the weather is quite warm. Summers in Lisbon tend to be extremely hot and should be avoided, especially for holiday plans.
