One of the lesser known cities of Poland, but in no way less beautiful than any of the others, Krakow is famed for its medieval architecture. This picturesque little town is a must visit on the itinerary of any tourist that sets foot in the country. Old Town is the best place to soak up the history of the place, seeing that it is home to what remains of the city’s medieval walls. The Rynek Glowny, otherwise known as the market square should not be missed, and neither should be St. Mary’s Basilica, a 14th century Gothic architecture church. The city is also home to the remnants of a trading outpost that can trace its roots back to the years of Renaissance. At night, with the Basilica all lit up, and the lights reflected on the streets, it becomes a magical affair. Couples stroll hand in hand, sampling fresh fruit and produce from the many small shops that line the sidewalks. The accommodation options are equally dreamy here, with several hotels in Krakow offering a relaxing stay.
The Sheraton Krakow Hotel is considered one of the best hotels in Krakow, and offers modern amenities with a rustic charm that you would be hard pressed to find elsewhere. With a wide range of rooms and suites to choose from, they are perfect for travelers from all walks of life. The Chopin Hotel is another great property, albeit being perfect for the budget traveler or the back packer.
