BEST TIME TO VISIT New York City

For most, New York City is symbolic of a fast-paced world, dotted with soaring skyscrapers and ritzy commercial complexes. The best time to visit New York City is from April to June, when the weather is pleasant, and then again from September to November, when you will not have to face a lot of crowds. Also, the throes of winter ensure that the tourist crowds are lesser.

Spring Season: The spring season in New York City lasts from March to May and is a pretty good time to visit New York. This is a great time to soak up the sun at one of the many parks of the city, or simply enjoy a day out, roaming the streets on a walking tour.

Tips: While the days are warm, the nights are sure to be chilly, so do carry a couple of warm clothes along. There are sudden rain showers, and even though they are rare, keeping a rain jacket handy would be ideal.

Autumn Season: The autumn season of New York City lasts from September to November, and is one of the most pleasant times to visit this city. The temperature does dip below zero on some nights, but the days are pretty warm. This is a pretty popular time to visit New York City among tourists, so make sure to book in advance.

Tips: This is a great time to enjoy walks in the parks, and other such outdoor activities. If visiting New York in autumn, attending a couple of Halloween events in the city are a must! Make sure to ask around your hotel and find out the ones closest to you. The Thanksgiving Parade of Macy’s is another must-see. Other events that you can attend in New York during this season include the New York City Marathon, Lighting at Rockefeller Center, and of course, the New York Film Festival.

Winter Season: The winter season in New York City lasts from December to February, and these are the coldest months of the year here. New York experiences a lot of snow storms, so pack warm clothes and snow boots.

Tips: Winters are great in New York, with the crisp air and the numerous festivities. The events that you can attend here during the winter season include the New Year’s Eve celebrations at Times Square, St. Patrick’s Day, and Christmas celebrations.
