Mecca, the capital is Makkah Province, is the holiest city in Islam and the birthplace of Prophet Mohammad. Mecca has a rich history as it is one of the oldest cities and a holy city since the middle ages. Hajj is the pilgrimage to Mecca and it is one of the Five Pillars of Islam and a compulsory journey that those with the financial and physical ability need to make. The traditional rituals begin by an anti-clockwise walk around the Ka’ba, which is a large black cube, the most sacred site.
