Aalborg Tourism

Aalborg is the fourth largest city of Denmark and is located in the North of Jutland. The city was established in AD 700 as an important trade harbour in the middle ages and a large industrial center in the late medieval ages. Today, the city is in transition from a working class neighbourhood to knowledge based community. The city’s rich history can still be admired because of its half-timbered mansions built by its prosperous merchants. The Budolfi Church and Aalborghus Castle, are the part of the history and heritage of Aalborg which is slowly changing its character to a modern-day Scandinavian city. Aalborg’s theatres, symphony orchestra, opera company, performance venues and museums offer plenty of options to visitors. The Aalborg Carnival organised at the end of May is one of the largest festivals in Scandinavia attracts plenty of travelers. Aalborg is slowly and steadily reaching its tourism potential and has one of the best gourmet cuisine in Denmark.
