Al Ain Tourism

Al Ain means 'The Spring' in Arabic. Also known as The Garden City, it is the 4th largest city of the UAE. The city has natural springs, a beautiful oasis, & plantations and is popular among tourists for its forts, museums, zoo & UNESCO World Heritage sites. The birthplace of UAE’s founding father, Sheikh Zayed, Al Ain was once a vital stop on the caravan route between Oman & the Gulf.

Al Ain is located 160 km from the capital city of Abu Dhabi, and 120 km south of Dubai. The city doesn’t have modern skyscrapers and has a more authentic Emirati look and feel. The highlight of any Al Ain trip is driving up the mountainous road to the top of Jebel Hafeet mountain. The drive offers splendid views of the region including its ancient mountain range and surrounding desert.
