Many international carriers fly to the Alexandria International Airport and the Borg al-Arab Airport. The Borg El Arab airport is located about 45 kilometres from the city. The airport receives flights from major cities in North Africa and the Middle East. Getting to and fro from the airport can be done by taxis or the local buses. Several bus operators provide services from Cairo to Alexandria.

Alexandria has 4 ports. They are namely Western, Eastern, Harbor and the Abu Qir and are generally used for commercial purposes.
