Situated near Zvartnots, about 12 km west of the Armenian capital of Yerevan, the Zvartnots International Airport is the main airport that caters to incoming and outgoing flights from Armenia.
Featuring three main terminals, the Zvartnots International Airport caters to numerous hubs across the planet, including cities like Athens, Moscow, Sharjah, Istanbul, Dubai, Tbilisi, Amsterdam, Saint Petersburg, Warsaw, Barcelona, Prague, and Paris, amongst others. The numerous airlines serving the airport include Aegean Airlines, Air Arabia, Air France, Austrian Airlines, flydubai, Georgian Airways, Czech Airlines, Aeroflot, and more.
There is one more airport that serves Armenia – the Shirak International Airport, located about 5 km from the province of Gyumri. However, this airport only has flights scheduled to the Russian cities of Moscow and Krasnodar.
Though the borders with Turkey and Azerbaijan have been closed indefinitely, it is still possible to drive into Armenia via Georgia or Iran. It is possible to get in touch with local travel agents, who can arrange transport to the border. Some agents from Georgia can also arrange for transport all the way till Tbilisi. Though it is more expensive to travel by car as compared to bus or train, it is definitely worth it, since it is not only more comfortable, but also an amazing way to enjoy sightseeing along the way.
There is a comfortable minibus service that connects the Armenian capital city of Yerevan to the Georgian capital of Tbilisi. There is also a modern bus service to Yerevan on a daily basis, from the Iranian cities of Tabriz or Tehran.
Citizens who hold a European Union passport, as well as nationals belonging to the Schengen Agreement member states can now enter Armenia without a visa and can stay in the country for a duration of up to 180 days per year.
