Armenia Visa and Passport Requirements

Citizens who hold a European Union passport, as well as nationals belonging to the Schengen Agreement member states can now enter Armenia without a visa and can stay in the country for a duration of up to 180 days per year.

Along with other countries, following is a list of passports that don't need a visa to enter into Armenia: Azerbaijan, Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Belarus, Belgium, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Estonia, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Greece, Georgia, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Iceland, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Moldova, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Romania, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and United Kingdom.

As of 1st January 2015, passport holders from the United States do not need a passport to enter Armenia. Residents of most of the other countries can obtain a single-entry tourist visa at any of the border control points. 

Passport holders of certain countries are not granted visa on arrival, and instead, need an invitation, and are required to apply for a visa at their nearest embassy or a consulate, before being allowed to enter the country.

These countries are Bangladesh, Algeria, Afghanistan, Cameroon, Egypt, Côte d'Ivoire, Libya, Ghana, Mauritania, Nepal, Niger, Morocco, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Sierra Leone, Pakistan, Somalia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, and Sudan.

Passport holders from India, Iraq and China are now exempt from requiring an invitation requirement, however, the facility of e-visa is still not available to them
