Bali is a paradisiacal island in Indonesia, which comprises of a few other smaller islets that are a popular destination for travelers who are looking for a luxurious vacation. The most famed islands within the Bali province include Nusa Ceningan, Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan among others. Bali is best characterized by the lush green fields of paddy, sun-kissed beaches and of course, the vibrant corals that lend the sea multi-color hues. The best time to visit Bali can be said to be during the months of July and August, as well as during late December to early January.

The climate in Bali is tropical, so one can expect warm and humid days, and only two main seasons: the rainy season from November to April, and the dry season from May to October.

Dry Season: The dry season here, lasting from the month of May to October, is actually the best time to visit Bali, and not without reason! The torrential downpour has just stopped, the ocean breeze is cool and inviting, and the weather is perfect for spending a day at the beach or enjoying a day sightseeing. It does get humid, but it is totally manageable, although the high influx of tourists might become a hindrance for those looking to enjoy a quieter time.

Tips for Bali in May – October

If you’re in Bali during the dry season:

  • Make sure to carry a good suntan lotion and a large hat to cover your face to avoid getting sunburn.
  • Wear linen or cotton to counter the humidity.
  • Evening can be relatively colder, so carry something warm as well.

Rainy Season: The rainy season in Bali, starting from November and ending in April, brings with it torrential downpour almost all through the day, so sightseeing becomes quite difficult. When it is not raining it gets really humid and hot, so that rains do bring a welcome relief. Although the rainy season is not considered the best time to visit Bali, it is nevertheless a great time for nature lovers, because the entire province and all the islands become verdant with the rains, giving it a newly washed look. The city tours and sightseeing sprees do not take a halt, this is the best time to visit Bali, if you want to avoid the crowds.

Tips for Bali in November – April

If visiting Bali during the rainy season, keep a few things in mind:

  • Take along your umbrella and rain coat everywhere, rain cover for your bags, and waterproof pouches for your mobile phones.
