Things to Do In Chengdu

  • Have a look at the tallest tower in Chengdu called the West Pearl Tower.
  • Head out to Kuanzhaixiangzi, a beautiful area with lots of quaint tea houses, restaurants and local snacks joints.
  • Visit the Tianfu Square, which has an enormous Chairman Mao statue overlooking the square. Have a look at the evening water show here.
  • Drop by at the People’s Park, which is dotted by a bevy of Sichuan snack restaurants. Here you’ll also find artists practicing calligraphy and selling their work at fair prices.
  • Make a beeline towards the Sichuan Science & Technology Museum to have a look at, and appreciate the technological advancements China has made so far.
  • Stop over at the Chengdu Zoo and spend some time admiring an array of indigenous animals like tigers, girafes, monkeys and panda bears.
  • The Sichuan Opera is famous for traditional cabaret and burlesque shows, and a visit here is a must.
  • Head to the Wuhouci Shrine and have a look at the dust covered statues of obscure figures behind glass panels at this imposing structure.
  • The Jinsha Archaeological Site has a relic of various tools and art pieces including pottery, blades, jade items, various golden art pieces, and more.
