Shopping In Chiang Rai

Head out to the Morning Market for fresh bamboo sticks, fish and a lot of local products that give you a proper feel of the place.

The Night Bazaar & Food Court, located at the centre of town, have many small stands and offer everything on sale from silk garments to tattoo etching and they also display some exotic pets for sale. This is a must visit for every first timer in Thailand.

The Thanon Khon Muan is a street of vendors selling handicrafts, local food and silk garments every Sunday evening. This place is then closed to traffic and it’s easier to navigate through the snaking streets.

Saturday evenings are abuzz with the open-air Walking Street. From handicrafts to local dishes, the market goes from the Hilltribe Museum to the Morning Market.

The Fair Trade Shop is where you would get knick-knacks of all sorts. A part of money earned here is donated to various development projects.

The MZ Collection is a shop in the Night Market with handmade silver jewellery and jewellery made of semi-precious stones.
