Built by Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) is a 39-storey business complex that apart from its original building also comprises of eight exhibition halls, the Dubai International Convention Centre as well as several residential apartments.

Originally built in 1978, the Dubai World Trade Centre has since grown into an encompassment of a number of buildings and venues. At the time it was built, the Centre was the tallest building not just in Dubai but also UAE and the surrounding regions.The Dubai World Trade Centre building is featured on the 100 dirham banknote.
