Isafjordur Tourism

Hallo! (Hello in Icelandic)

Isafjordur is the principal town of Westfjords in the North-West corner of Iceland on the edge of Arctic wilderness. Translated as ‘ice fjords,’ you’ll find this magnificent capital city among five smaller villages in the peninsula. Isafjordur used to be fishing hub in the 1980s and 90s, however today is it a main tourist spot, thanks to the surrounding mountains that offer great opportunity to enjoy nature during all seasons of the year. This hook-shaped city is known for its rich culture of music and visual arts that reflect the firm roots of the city’s history.
