Kuwait Tourism

Embracing a hypnotic blend of lavish metropolitan environment and magnificent natural features, this Arabian country is tucked on the western tip of Persian Gulf. Bordered by Iraq towards its north and Saudi Arabia towards south, Kuwait enjoys a cosy corner in the Middle East. As luxurious as modish, the architecture and impeccable city planning of this tiny country takes the world by surprize. Dressed ornately with quintessential Arabian deserts, beauteous coastal zones and pristine beaches, Kuwait has a dynamic treasure of surprizes for its visitors.

Although the archaeological and historical traces claim that civilization existed here since 3rd millennium B.C, their existence vanished somewhere in the middle of first millennium B.C. Anizah tribe rediscovered the country in 18th Century and created an autonomous Sheikhdom out of it. After a long trail of incidents that involved; receiving threats from Turks and Iraqis, seeking shelter from British Empire and procuring protection from Arab league, Kuwait finally attained the joy of becoming a sovereign nation on 20th July, 1961. The country still follows monarchy and is ruled by the Sheikhs.

85% of the population follows Islam and the remaining is a mix of Christians, Parsis, Hindus and others. Arabic is the official language here, though English is also widely spoken. One of the most interesting facts about this country is that its citizens are not liable to any income tax. As far as Kuwaiti culinary is concerned, meat and camel milk are the main ingredients. Alcohol is illegal in the country.

One of the many marvels of Kuwait is The Liberation Tower, which stands even taller than the celebrated Eiffel Tower. Apart from this, the sprawling and architecturally brilliant towers of the country are spectacular. There are thrilling museums, beautiful islands, picturesque beaches, gorgeous monuments and a lot more tourist magnets that make this kingdom worth the visit.
