BEST TIME TO VISIT Nice

With a mild Mediterranean climate through most part of the year, Nice is an incredible place to vacation. It is the second-largest hotel capital in France, receiving around 4 million tourists all around the world every year.

Spring: Spring is the best time to visit Nice. During this season, the weather is pleasant and mild. March to June would be the best months to plan a trip to Nice with temperatures ranging from 8°C to 20°C.

Tips: The city might have rainy days at times with a minimum temperature of 6 degree Celsius. 

Summer: Known for its 300 days of sunshine, Nice climate in summer is mildly hot. Summer lasts from June to August. The temperatures range from 17°C at the lowest, to 27°C at the highest. During summer, Nice weather is good for beaches and also draws a lot of tourist crowd from all over Europe. Plan a summer holiday in Nice if you don’t mind the rush & high prices. Also note that being the middle of the summer, the weather might get a bit too hot to plan a hike or walk around the city.

Tips: Summers get more enjoyable when you wear comfortable and light clothes. It is better to book rooms with air conditioners to beat extreme temperatures in the night in the coastal city. June – Aug see major festivals like the Annual Book Festival, Nice Jazz Festival and the festival of St. Peter and Sea.

Autumn: Autumn in France starts in September and extends till November. It is also the best season to visit Nice. From 17 - 24°C in September, temperatures drop to 8 - 16°C by November.  to 21°C. The streets become relatively less crowded, schools resume and the locals get back to their routines. Visitors tend to get better deals during autumn as a lot of resorts and hotels lie vacant. There is an average rainfall of around 50 mm. It is the main harvest time in France and tourists can enjoy fresh wine during these months.

Tips: Tourists can expect mild rainfall during these months and are advised to pack accordingly. During the month of September, you can participate in the Saint-Paul-du-Vence grape harvest. You get to pick and chop grape bunches that will be processed to make wine for the year.

Winters: During winters, the Nice climate is warm and comfortable. Winters in Nice are mild and lasts from December to February. Tourists can enjoy the Nice Carnival, one of the largest carnivals held during February.

Tips: It is the only time of the year without sunshine in the city. Tourists are advised to have warm clothes for better sightseeing around the city as the temperature may fall to a minimum of 6°C during these months.
