Getting Around in PHUKET

The best way to get around Phuket is a tuk tuk, the ubiquitous mode of transport in Thailand. They are easily available and reasonable.

There are pickup trucks that operate as buses. These pickup trucks pick you up and drop you off at any place on the prescribed route as they do not have set stops. The regular local buses operate from the main bus station to the beaches.

There are air-conditioned taxis in Phuket but they are expensive. The safer option is metered taxi but they are not easily available especially during the peak season. Motorbike taxis known as motosai are available, but are not recommended. You can hire a car or motorcycle, but driving on the streets in Phuket is not recommended as no one follows traffic rules and it can be dangerous.
