Romania Visa and Passport Requirements

Romania is soon to be a member of the Schengen Agreement and thus, citizens of the European Union (EU) and European Free Trade Association (EFTA) can use a national identity card instead of a passport to enter. They do not require a visa and can stay for any length of time. 

For citizens of non-EU members, a transit visa and a passport valid for at least three months on arrival and issued within the last 10 years is required.
