Bok! (Hello in Croatian)

Split is the largest city in the region of Dalmatia and the second largest city of Croatia. It lies on the eastern shore of the Adriatic Sea and its Greater area includes the neighbouring seaside towns as well. The city with a 1,700 years old history, draws its name from the spiny boom which is a common shrub in the area. The city was found in the 4th century BCE as Spalathos’ Greek colony. The popular attractions in Split include the UNESCO-designated sites like the Diocletian's Palace and Mausoleum, the Grgur Ninski Statue and the Cathedral and Bell Tower of St. Domnius.
