Getting Around in STOCKHOLM

It’s wise to purchase the Stockholm Tourist Card that allows you free access to various transport systems and the famous landmarks, and lets you be among the sightseeing attractions in Stockholm city.

Bicycles – The city has special bicycle pathways effectively used by Stockholmers and tourists alike. Many bike companies lend the bicycles for a nominal fee. You may have to submit your identification card as a security deposit.

Taxis – Many taxi companies like Taxy Stockholm ply luxurious cabs for your comfort.

Public buses – The best and easiest way to explore the city. The public buses are of high comfort and design, and the glass windows let you discover the city on the go. You may also purchase a day travel ticket that lets you unlimited travel anywhere within the city.

Tubes- The fastest and the cheapest way to reach to your next destination, the Stockholm’s Tunnelbana is highly regarded in entire Europe.

Ferries – The Ferries from the archipelago’s main halts like Gamla Stan and Djurgården are a beautiful excuse to explore the scenic beauties of the city from the Baltic waters. 

How to Reach STOCKHOLM

By Air

Stockholm-Arlanda International Airport is located 40 kilometers north of Stockholm City and is connected with sixty major airlines including British Airways, Finnair, and KLM. The country has three other airports, Bromma Airport, Skavsta Airport and Västerås Airport, and all the four are well connected to downtown with frequent airport coaches and other local transports. The Flygbussarna Airport Coaches and the The Arlanda express trains are easily accessible from underneath the arrival terminals. 

By Road

Premier Bus companies like Eurolines connect Stockholm city with several major European cities. The buses will reach Stockholm Central, from where you can further take local public transport to reach your hotel. you can also take taxis to reach Stockholm from other European cities.

By Rail

The Arlanda Express Train leaves every fifteen minutes from the airport and reaches Stockholm Central within 20 minutes. Stockholm is also very well connected with other European cities by rail. 

By Water

Cruise though the spectacular Stockholm archipelago and the surrounding islands on a ferry that connects the Baltic countries. As many as 300 cruise liners transport people to Stockholm harbour from across the world.
