How to Reach TBILISI

By Air

Tbilisi International Airport, located 17 kilometres from Tbilisi’s city centre, is Georgia’s main airport. It serves as the hub for Georgian Airways, country’s national carrier, and connects Tbilisi to the rest of the world via direct or connecting flights. Those travelling to Georgia can catch direct flights from international destinations like Istanbul, Dubai, Doha, Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, and Moscow among others.
Bus # 37 operating from the airport to the city centre and vice-versa every 30 minutes, is the cheapest way to reach Tbilisi from the airport. The journey takes about 30 - 40 minutes.

By Road

Tbilisi has three main bus stations operating to and from international cities located near-by – Didube bus station, Samgori bus station, and Ortachala bus station. It is well-connected to cities of Vladikavkaz (Russia), Istanbul (Turkey), as well as major centres of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Greece.

By Rail

Regular trains ply from Yerevan, Armenia and Baku (Azerbaijan) to Tbilisi Central Station, the main station in Tbilisi.

Getting Around in TBILISI

Metros: Tbilisi has a two-line metro system intersecting at the Station Square (Sadguris Moedani I). Buy a Metromani travel card to travel by the Metro (the cards can be bought and re-charged at all stations). For those who speak neither Georgian nor Russian, worry not: Station names are announced in both, English as well as Georgian. The metro system operates from 07:00 hours until midnight.
