BEST TIME TO VISIT United Arab Emirates

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, the United Arab Emirates witnesses a tropical desert climate, with hot and humid summers, and comparatively cooler winters. The winter season can be considered the best time to visit the United Arab Emirates. There are four seasons here, namely, spring, summer, autumn and winter. However, there is no major distinction among them other than the fact that it is a little less hot during winters. Being a desert country, the United Arab Emirates remains hot almost throughout the year.

Spring: Spring in the United Arab Emirates, lasting from April to May, is not similar to the Spring season in other countries. The weather is much pleasant of course, but don’t expect a lot of greenery in this desert landscape.

Tips: Not being the high season for tourists, there are a lot of hotel discounts and other offers to lure in travelers. Carry light apparels and an umbrella for sure, if you’re traveling here during Spring.

The festivals you can be part of during this time include a host of cultural events as well as sports fests, most of them in Dubai. The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair is also held during this time.

Summer: The summer season in the United Arab Emirates lasts from June to August, and is immensely hot and humid. The temperatures during this time reach nearly 50° C, with the average temperature remaining at a steady 42 °C. There is a little bit of rainfall as well, which makes the humidity even worse. Sightseeing turns out to be a bad prospect during this time, because you might not want to leave the comfort of your air-conditioned room. Definitely not the best time to visit the United Arab Emirates.

Tips: If you do find yourself visiting the United Arab Emirates during the summer, you are sure to find the most lucrative deals of hotel stay possible. Make use of these to stay in plush hotels which may not be within budget during the tourist season.

A couple of festivals that you can enjoy during this time include the SummerFest and the Liwa Date Festival in Abu Dhabi. In Dubai, the Dubai Food Festival is a must visit, especially for those who love trying their hands at gourmet world cuisine. Most festivals in the United Arab Emirates are held indoors, due to the excessive heat outside. So, expect a cool environment. The Dubai Summer Surprises is also a must visit to enjoy music concerts, carnivals and food fests of various kinds.

Winter: The winter season in the United Arab Emirates lasts from November to March. The weather is much cooler during this time, with the temperatures staying within 26 °C to 28 °C. Sightseeing is not a problem during this time, and spending entire days at the beach will not lead to sunburns or sunstrokes of any kind.

Tips: Since this is the official best time to visit United Arab Emirates, it would be a good idea to book all accommodations and packages in advance and avoid last minute hassles. Fair warning: it is going to be very crowded here.

The festivals one can hope to be a part of during these months include the Qasr al Hosn Festival, the Abu Dhabi Triathlon, the Dubai Shopping Festival towards end of January, and the Dubai Winter Festival in December.

Autumn: The months of September and October constitute the autumn season in the United Arab Emirates. Although not the official tourist season, this time of the year is quite popular among tourists looking for a bargain on accommodation.

Tips: There are plenty of festivals to be a part of during this time, especially in Abu Dhabi, such as the Abu Dhabi Film Festival, the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and the Emirates International Date Palm Festival. In Dubai, the International Trade Fair is a great place to enjoy browsing through merchandise from all over the world, enjoying delicious world cuisine and of course, admiring the gorgeous décor of each stall.
